Level I Public Forum Debate Intensive, July 9-13, 2018
Five 8-hour sessions, 8am-4pm
Location: First Methodist Carrollton, 2201 E. Hebron Parkway, Carrollton, TX 75010 (near DNT & Bush)
$695 (save $100 if you enroll in both Level I and Level II camps)

Recommended for Ages 12-17
This camp encompasses the activities in the “Intro to Public Forum Debate” but also teaches research techniques and effective development of Constructives, Rebuttals, and Crossfire questions, to help students deeply understand their case and their opponents’. Learning to anticipate and write blocks will help students stay comfortable and confident in competition, and we will begin to show students how to crack the code of a coherent crystallization in the second half of the debate (Summary and Final Focus).
Understanding and utilizing Framework is front and center during this camp.
Lots of fun and engaging activities will be used to help instill the information learned. Some homework will be assigned and coaches evening online office hours will be available.
Demonstration debates and activities by the students will be held on the afternoon of the final day, with parents welcome to watch.
No prerequisite required to enroll in this camp. Students who take this camp are considered to have completed the prerequisite to join a Debate League or Junior Debate League club during the school year.
